Steel repair to kitchen ceiling joist

This is a view of the ceiling joist repaired by installing two new 1/4" structural steel plates on either side of the joist and bolted through and through. You can see the cracks along the bottom of the wood joist. You can also see some of the new wood joist blocking, new aluminum framing for the ceiling and the new electrical grid.
